A quadcopter is an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS).

Pursuant to the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), "to operate the controls of a small UAS under Part 107, you need a remote pilot airman certificate with a small UAS rating, or be under the direct supervision of a person who holds such a certificate." Educators are considered non-hobbyists, and as such require a remote pilot airman certificate.

You are responsible for knowing the FAA rules, obtaining appropriate certification, and flying the unmanned aircraft.
