Apprenticeships in Science and Engineering (ASE)

Saturday Academy’s Apprenticeships in Science and Engineering (ASE) program matches bright, creative, committed high school students with professional scientists and engineers for eight-week, full-time summer internships. ASE mentors (working professionals) create opportunities for interns to participate in research, investigation, and experimentation at their organization. ASE interns gain hands-on, practical experience of career paths while contributing to the work of mentors and their teams.

The ASE program is currently working to increase internships in Central Oregon and actively recruiting new mentors. Interested professionals can visit http://www.saturdayacademy.org/ase/mentor-information to learn more.

Student intern information is also available at http://www.saturdayacademy.org/ase/student-information. Applications are due in March, but require several components, so it’s good to start planning as soon as possible. The STEM Hub will be supporting ASE Cover Letter and Interview Skills workshops in February and March 2015. Stay tuned for full details.
